In sustaining CYC's 63 years old tradition of providing outstanding racing opportunity, Corinthian Yacht Club will continue to provide "Racing at it's Best" in 2008.
New for 2008:
The most exciting addition to the racing season will be the NOOD regatta on May 16-18. This regatta will be part of the nationwide circuit organized and supported by Sailing World race management. Locally, the regatta will be supported by CYC together with our colleagues of the SYC. We are very excited that Seattle is joining the NOOD racing circuit, as we are sure it will be a great weekend of racing.
PSSR & PSSC starting lines will be a restricted area. Please see PSSR/PSSC Sailing Instructions.
On the Lake, Thistles will race on Wednesday night instead of Tuesday. The change is experimental and will be re-examined at the end of the season to verify we reached the goal to make racing on the lake more enjoyable for all fleets.
This Racebook contains information pertaining to the Sailing Instructions and Notice of Race for all the events offered by CYC. Race registration can be made online, by phone or by mailing in the registration form in this racebook. CYC members receive substantial discounts over individual events when they register for race packages with the greatest discount applied to packages that contain the most events. Check with your respective fleet for the package they recommend. Note there will not be weeknight racing during Whidbey Island Race Week July 20-25 to encourage fleet participation at that event.
With the large number of races offered by CYC each year, it is essential that racers support our race staff by volunteering on the race committee. Race committee volunteers will be coordinated with the support of each fleet. If you can volunteer, especially the nights you are not racing, please do so. Your help will be greatly appreciated and the quality of the CYC Racing Program will improve. I also encourage you to support CYC by bringing new people out racing and encouraging them to become members. Crew available listings are posted on our website at: www.cycseattle.org/crew/index.html
Finally, if you have suggestions, complaints, great ideas on how to improve the value of CYC Racing program, please let me know. I will not guarantee all your suggestions will be implemented, but I will guarantee I will listen and carefully consider all your suggestions, complaints and great ideas.
