Notice to Racers
July 1, 2000

Beginning in July, 2001, all Corinthian Yacht Club races will be governed by the 2001 - 2004 Racing Rules of Sailing as modified by the updated CYC 2001 Racebook. The changes are required to comply with the 2001-2004 US Sailing RRS.

Editors Note: Changes have been incorporated into this Web version of the 2001 Racebook. Old text is shown struck out, and new text is in italics in most cases. The descriptions of the Start are not in italics.

Unofficial Summary: The main change to the racebook is the description of the start. The starting sequence remains the same as CYC has been using. This sequence was described in the old RRS. The new RRS do not describe our start sequence, so it is now described in the racebook. Other changes relate to which elements of the RRS are changed by our local rules. For example, our scoring will remain the same, but this modifies a different section of the new RRS than it did of the old ones, and the new section is noted.
