Far Side of the World --
Adventures from Australia to Brazil during a Six Year Circumnavigation
Altair is a 1983 Cal 35, we were avid racers on keel boats for years before leaving to go cruising. We left in 2000 and return in 2006 almost exactly six years to the day. Stops in the Indian Ocean and Atlantic between Australia and Brazil included Ashmore Reef, Cocos Keeling, Rodriguez, Maruitius, Reunion, South Africa, St Helena, and Fernando de Noraha.
February 29: Jim and Barbara Cole
Jim and Barbara will talk about their three month cruise to Alaska on their Hallberg Rassy 36 in 2005.
March 15-16 - Wine Cruise to Langley, Whidbey Island
Join us for a Wine Tasting at Langley.
The number to call for reservations is: (360) 914-1739.
We will plan on having the Wine tasting happy hour on the biggest boat start about 4:30 pm. We can make dinner plans at that time.
If each boat would bring two bottles of wine to share and a story or two, we will have a fun time.
April 26th - Pizza Cruise to Kingston
Join CYC for what has become a traditional annual event for cruisers and racers alike. We will meet in Kingston Marina at 1700 for appetizers and drinks and then go to Bella Luna for Pizza. Details for RSVP will follow. See if you can get a reservation at the marina. Call (360) 297-3545. But they save half the moorage for non-reservation visitors, so if you can't reserve, arrive early.
May 24-25-26th - Memorial Weekend
Norma and Allen Goldstein will be leading the cruise and are planning on an 11 am departure on Saturday from Elliott Bay Marina to catch the (approx) 15:30 tide change at the Narrows and ensure plenty of time to get to Longbranch before dusk. They hope to see you there at what is probably their favorite cruise of the year! If you are planning on going, please let them know.
June ?? - Small Boat Race to Blake Island.
Cookout and campout. (Snooze and Cruise)
This one requires some explanation: We meet at Duwamish Head and set up a start line, The big boats are the marks for the small boats and they finish off Blake Island. We reserve the group camp site and the big boats carry tents and cooking gear. We ferry it in to shore (or drop it at the marina) and have a cookout on the beach. Some folks tent and others sleep on the boats. On Sunday we set up a start line and off go the small boats back to the head and a finish line.
July 3-6th - Poulsbo - Kingston
