Many of you know or know of Larry and Maxine Bailey. They have been cruising the world for over 14 years and have circumnavigated 3 times.
Larry and Maxine have written articles for publications such as 48 North, and they have written letters to numerous magazines on behalf of the rights and responsibilities of cruiser’s worldwide.
We are very fortunate to be able to host Larry and Maxine for our first Friday, February 2 at 6:30 at the Shilshole clubhouse.
Larry and Maxine Bailey (Seattle, Wash.) were selected by the Cruising Club of America (CCA) to receive the 2006 Far Horizons Award for their adventurous full-time cruising aboard their 43-foot cutter Shingebiss II during the past 14 years.

The award was presented at the club’s annual Awards Dinner in New York on January 16, 2007 by CCA commodore Edward S. Rowland of Hamilton, Mass. Good bio on the Bailey’s cruising career, go read it.
Congratulations Larry and Maxine!

The Bailey’s have given talks to several clubs and we are honored to have them. We especially look forward to the Question and Answer session following their presentation. These folks can really speak to the practical side of making the cruising dream come true.

If each boat would bring two bottles of wine to share and a story or two, I think we will have a fun time.

June 23-24 - Small Boat Race to Blake Island.
Cookout and campout. (Snooze and Cruise)
This one requires some explanation: We meet at Duwamish Head and set up a start line, The big boats are the marks for the small boats and they finish off Blake Island. We reserve the group camp site and the big boats carry tents and cooking gear. We ferry it in to shore (or drop it at the marina) and have a cookout on the beach. Some folks tent and others sleep on the boats. On Sunday we set up a start line and off go the small boats back to the head and a finish line.
