Fridays in February
At the Shilshole Clubhouse, the bar will open at 7:00PM, there will be appetizers and the talks will start promptly at 7:30PM. They will go until 9:00PM. Note that the schedule has been revised since the first publication in mid January.
February 3: Social Event and preparation for Open House. This year’s open house (February 19th) will include a presentation by the CYC cruising group on “Local Destinations” On February 3rd, we will gather to share photos and stories of local destinations in preparation for the open house. We will be making several display boards If you have printed photos we can put on the board, please bring them. Log books and photo albums will be fun to share also. Anyone with digital photos; please bring them (on CD, USB drive, or floppy disk) to copy into our PowerPoint presentation. CYC Shilshole doors will open at 6:30 PM. Hors d’ Oeuvres will be served.
February 10: Dolphins Every Day: Seattle to Costa Rica by Dr. Betsey Barnett and family.
February 17 and 19: Local Destinations. This is our open house event. Non-members are invited to join us Friday night (7:00pm, presentation at 7:30) and Sunday for this open house presentation. Cruising group members are asked to come also, share some stories, and meet some prospective new CYC members.
February 24: Slide show: Sailing the Leeward Islands by Derek Storm and Cindy Gossett.
March 18-19th - Frostbite Cruise to Langley, Whidbey Island
Don’t let this nasty weather get you down. Spring weather is days away!
Join us on our cruise to Langley. The currents and the weather are in our favor.
Cruise on your own schedule of meet Alveolus off Shilshole breakwater between 10 and 10:30 on Saturday.
Alveolus will monitor channel 16.
Happy hour 4:30 pm in Langley.

April 22-23rd - Pizza Cruise in Kingston
Join CYC for what has become a traditional annual event for cruisers and racers alike. We will meet in Kingston Marina at 1700 for appetizers and drinks and then go to Bella Luna for Pizza. RSVP for planning and Pizza reservations to Allan Goldstein. Note that there are several yacht clubs converging on Kingston this weekend. See if you can get a reservation there. Call (360) 297-3545. But they save half the moorage for non-reservation visitors, so if you can't reserve, arrive early.
May 27-29th - Memorial Weekend
We will be going to Hoodshead and Port Gamble. More details will follow.
June 3th - Leukemia Cup Cruising Division
There will be a NFS start for cruisers interested in supporting this race. Party with all racers at a location to be announced at a later date.
July 2-6th - Manzanita, Poulsbø-Quartermaster Harbor, Gig Harbor, Tacoma - Glass Museum
As usual, CYC Cruisers will meet in Poulsbo for fireworks on July 3, but before that, we will have a wine tasting in Manzanita Bay on July 2. On July 4 we cruise to Quartermaster Harbor to join QMC for their annual Fourth of July holiday bash, and more fireworks. Head home on July 5.
The general plan for the Fourth of July Cruise is Sunday evening, July 2 in Manzanita Bay, Monday, July 3 in Liberty Bay (Poulsbo) for Fireworks, and Tuesday, July 4 in Quartermaster Harbor for Fireworks. Then Wednesday we will go to Tacoma to the Glass Museum.
August 12-13th - Commodore - Gibson
This is another event with appeal for CYC racers and cruisers alike. Join us for this fun race starting at the Meadow Point Buoy and ending at Port Ludlow. Winners and others will receive fabulous prizes. We will stay at the Port Ludlow Marina. (Each yacht is responsible for making their own reservations for moorage in the marina. Contact Port Ludlow Marina at 360-437-0513.) This year we were beaten out for the reservation of the barbeque pit, so we will have to meet on the dock at 1800 hrs for potluck. Outlaw will bring a small, portable gas grill which can cook a steak or two, and will be available on a first-come first-serve basis. RSVP for planning purposes to to Derek Storm storm@drizzle.com. (CYC members only, please.) We need your PHRF handicap (or we need to negotiate one with you) for the reverse start. If you plan to participate, please do let us know so we can setup the reverse starts.

October 21-22rd - Fog Cruise to Bainbridge Island
Join the diehard cruisers for this trip to Eagle Harbor and Bainbridge. We reserve 150 feet of dock space at the City Dock, maintained by the City of Bainbridge (47° 37.29N, 122° 31.06W), and rafting is permitted. Dinner will be a local restaurant to be determined.
November 11 th - Dinner Cruise
The destination of the November 11th Dinner Cruise will be Arnie’s restaurant in Edmonds. We have reservations at 7:30 but Allen NEEDS RSVP to let them know how big our party will be.
GOOD NEWS if you are planning to sail up: Allen was able to get marina reservations for the group but he MUST KNOW what boats and their LENGTH OVERALL (LOA) so the harbormaster can set up the space we will need. Please RSVP BEFORE NOVEMBER 5th if you are planning on sailing to Edmonds, he needs your boat name, skipper’s name and length overall (not waterline but how much space your boat actually takes at the dock).
If you are driving by car, please let know so I’ll only get you on the restaurant list and not the dock list.

December 31 - January 1st - New Year's Eve Cruise
NEW YEARS AT BELL HARBOR: Last year on January 3rd, Allen reserved an entire side of one pier at Bell Harbor Marina in Seattle for New Years Eve. There is room for 8 boats alongside and more can raft he needs you to RSVP. Please tell him the boat name, skipper name and LOA so we can plan.
